Neurofeedback Improves Sleep

Doctors recommend a variety of measures to help adults and children achieve adequate sleep.

Neurofeedback training improves sleep. To maintain these good conditions we need a comfortable sleep environment, encourage a healthful balance of nutrition and exercise. Some suggestions to follow for more improvement:

  • Maintain a regular schedule
  • Avoid caffeine, alcohol, nicotine, and other chemicals that interfere with sleep
  • Make your bedroom a comfortable sleep environment
  • Establish a calming pre-sleep routine
  • Go to sleep when you’re truly tired
  • Do not watch the clock at night
  • Use light to your advantage by exposing yourself to light during the day and limiting light exposure in the evening
  • Do not nap too close to your regular bedtime
  • Eat and drink enough— not too much or too soon before bedtime
  • Exercise regularly—but not too soon before bedtime

Our habitual and behavioural patterns before we fall sleep have a major role as well. How tired we are! Meaning how many hours we have been awake are 2 more important factors on how we sleep too.

The best hours that our body wants to go to sleep are 10pm or 2 hours after darkening. Waking up after 8 hours at 6am can follow that bed time rutine.

Sometimes after 2 whole cycles of 90 minutes, which is 3 hours, we have enough sleep. If we wake up then we will be very refreshed. However we will need to take a nap during the day.
